Superposition quantique d'ordre causal pour les signaux et systèmes

Abstract : For signals and systems it is possible to associate or switch two processing systems (1) and (2), by means of a binary control signal, so as to select between two processing structures, for example two causal orderings (1)-(2) or (2)-(1) applied to process the signal. In the quantum domain, a novel faculty rests in the possibility of placing the control signal in a quantum superposition. One can realize in this way a superposition of systems simultaneously in the causal order (1)-(2) and (2)-(1) for interacting with the signal to process. This provides access to associations of processing systems specifically quantum, endowed with new properties, inaccessible with isolated or classically associated systems. Here we present this novel possibility for quantum signal processing and illustrate it on a task of parameter estimation from a noisy signal, with specific benefits such as the ability to extract information from a completely depolarized input probe signal
