Modifications d'acides gras pour une utilisation comme matériaux à changement de phase dans des applications de refroidissement électronique

Abstract : The increase of the power density of the electronic chips directly affects the performance of the electronic devices. This is why thermal management of these systems is essential to prevent depreciation and extent life of these chips. The purpose of the current PhD study is to modified two fatty acids to allow their uses as phase change material used for cooling conventional electronic devices. Firstly, decanoic acid is modified using five additives: potassium oleate, sodium decanoate, sodium hydroxide, sodium oleate and ammonium acetate; each additive is used in three molarproportions: 10, 25 and 33%. Benefit from this result the arachidic acid is also modified. The main purpose is to lower its solidus temperature without affecting the latent heat. In parallel, an experimental device for measuring specific heat and thermal conductivity was designed,manufactured and validated. Finally, we design and tested an experimental device to study the effect of pure and modified arachidic acid on the cooling performance of an electronic device.
